Club members Chelsi Guillen and Danny Curzon placed 10th out of 20 teams
in the pairs events at the 2008 World Junior Championships in Sofia,
Bulgaria, February 25 – March 2. Each of their two programs scored a
“season’s best” among their international outings this season. Chelsi and
Danny are happy to have represented the Club, Arizona, and the U.S. this
year and are grateful for everyone’s support. Kudos to them and also to
Jill Kinsley for her never-ending send-off posters and enthusiasm!

Our on-ice team brought home medals and memories of this exciting event
held January 21 – 27 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Highlights included a bronze
medal in Junior Pairs for Chelsi Guillen and Danny Curzon, who have been
named to the Junior World team. In addition, local training mates Tiffany
Vise and Derek Trent won the pewter medal in Senior Pairs and were named
to the Four Continents Championships team as well as first alternate to
the World Team. Congratulations to our entire team and their coaches. -

Our Sectionals team performed well at Pacific Coast
and Midwesterns, November 15 – 17, bringing home 2 gold medals, 1 silver,
and 2 pewter. In addition to medaling, these skaters have qualified for
Nationals:
Douglas Razzano, 4th in Senior Men
Max Aaron, 1st in Junior Men
Chelsi Guillen & Danny Curzon, 1st in Junior Pairs
Megan Gueli & Grant Marron, 2nd in Junior Pairs
Shannon Wingle & Ryan Devereaux, 4th in Junior Ice Dance

Skating Club of Arizona

Heading to Sheffield JGP - Douglas Razzano won the
silver medal in a field of 27 men at the Junior Grand Prix event in
Sheffield, England, October 19 – 21. His medal in the last event of the
competition saved Team USA from being shut out of the medals and was
applauded enthusiastically by his USA teammates. Combined with his 4th
place finish in Estonia, Douglas finished the Junior Grand Prix series in
9th place overall, making him the first alternate for the JGP Final.
Chelsi Guillen and Danny Curzon have also wrapped up their first Junior
Grand Prix season, finishing 9th of 15 teams in Estonia and 10th of 18
teams in Sheffield. Congratulations to Douglas, Chelsi, and Danny and to
their coaches Doug & Lara Ladret. - October, 2007

Heading to Estonia JGP - Douglas Razzano, Chelsi
Guillen, and Danny Curzon are headed to Tallinn, Estonia as members of Team
USA to compete in the Junior Grand Prix international competition being held
September 19 - 22. Douglas will compete in Junior Men and Chelsi and
Danny will compete in Junior Pairs. This picture from their 7 am send-off
shows them wide awake and in the middle of their day, as they are in the
process of time-shifting to Estonia time. Good luck, Douglas, Chelsi, and
